Right now, I don't have words to explain why I think this might be the best romance film of all time (hint: the very last scene) but what I will say is Sarita is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen on screen. Denzel and Sarita were have a face card off and I don't really know if anyone won but me.

This is a beautiful film. Beautiful in its portrayal of nuanced and complex black women/black femininity (and black men/black masculinity), beautiful in its portrayal of community, what it means to not only survive but to carry on, beautiful in the colours and the music and the love and the sorority. And whilst there are parts of this I am still trying to understand, watching this is like watching an emotional and comforting hug play out.
