  Absolutely stunning the entire time. The acting, the music, the visuals; all of it was appealing and kept me enraptured with the movie. Usually I'm not a fan of historical movies but it was interesting, well paced and talked about the nuances (nuances? I can't think of another word rn) of creating weapons

  My half assed review for this movie is: if you’re not worried about whether the plot makes sense and you’re just watching for a good time then its perfect.

  I’m almost 100% convinced that Takashi Miike made the movie to be a tension filled Kiryu/Majima fanfic but someone told him they needed other characters and less of Majima grinding against Kiryu so he threw the other plot lines in as an after thought.
