Megalopolis 2024
Bought tickets to watch it when it first came out in cinemas. Instant regret. When the movie finished, me and my friends just silently turned around to each other, confused of what we just witnessed.
When I’m telling you there ain’t a story in this movie, i mean it. My brain kept trying to understand the meaning throughout the film, frying my brain. It’s such a messy movie, i felt scammed.
Got some cool cinematic scenes though 👍

This film uses the dogme 95 film technique and i cant say I'm a big fan of it. If you're not familiar with dogme 95, it’s a film technique that follows strict rules, such as:
1. Filming must be done on location, with no sets or props brought in.
2. The camera must be handheld.
3. Only diegetic sound (natural to the scene) is allowed—no added music or effects.The list goes on. Personally i find it quite limiting. Plus, the hand held camera would often shake (gave the vibe of youtubers vlogging) or be tilted, which annoyed me.
