Fantastic josei series rooted in inherent power fantasies of being able to change abusive hierarchies through the power of literacy and actionable inventions. I can't say enough how much I love this series. If I had much in the way of criticism, it would mostly be that I would be more aggressive towards the nobility, but it is clearly and textually anti-nobility and anti-capitalism in every form. The Phantom of the Opera 1925
I can't give this a star rating because that would be a fundamental betrayal of the background from which this film comes. It's just delightful. That's what is most important. Shiraishi is great at letting Kudo basically be a man cosmically tortured in every film, but also having Kudo be someone who is sure he can always deal with it regardless of the circumstances.
Having him be alone here to effectively suffer at the hands of a real creature is wonderful.

Her brother being so cruel, even as he's trying to convince her of how cruel Kudo is - it's ... a more horrific thing than anything you saw in movie 5.
We don't have any idea of the person her brother was before this. Whether Kudo was truly an entity within this…
