Good movie. I've never seen the original story of Ringu but if it's anything like this it's probably good. I thought it was weird to start off by fully explaining the tape and that whole first bit with the girl dying, and it was made weirder by the other friend being put in the psyche ward rather than being a more relevant character (did she not also see the tape?). Other than that, it was fantastic. I thought the child being creepy and the story hinting at him being psychic was a nice touch (unless I completely misread that.).

So Mike Chenowick might be a cinematic genius. He put together a perfect picture of his life within 15 minutes that somehow makes me not completely hate the guy but rather feel embarassed and bad for him. All in all, a good commentary on modern anti-social lives over-influenced by media.
