Its easy to fall in love with characters who are so idiosyncratically believeable. Their shared history that exist completley outside the margins of the film is made so real by the brilliant performers.

Shots like Bruno and Schietz compressed in the doorway of their Berlin apartment to the movile home that engulfs the three characters upon areiving in Wisconsin stick with me. Framing like this reminds rides the wonderful line between realism and abstract emotion.

The characters and the camera breathe life into these wonderfully strange people.
