I love this movie! I haven’t seen it in a while and now that I’m getting closer to 30 I decided to watch it and it’s just so much fun and really grounds us to remember we get to decide who we are and every choice makes us who we are. It’s a reminder to be kind and choose kindness. It’s not so much about worrying about age it’s more about focusing on who you are and who you want to be.

I really enjoyed the creative style the film took by being a musical for such a serious hard topic of violence in Latin countries, gangs and also gender identity. The songs really made scenes more powerful and made me feel so emotional. It really felt like it took a moment to emphasize the corruption, sadness, longing for acceptance. Zoe and Karla did an amazing job in their roles and the story line was original and hopeful.
