I wouldn’t say this has the same magic, fantastic quality as the show but it’s still a really good time. I think part of the difference is that Vincent has to be taken very seriously like Vicious is in the series but there’s no lingering history between him and the crew like there is between Spike and Vicious, and because Vincent is the main villain of the movie he can’t be a quick villain with a very caricatured quirky behavior.…

You know when I first started to log this I was going to give it 4.5 stars and then I realized I had no idea what this movie could have done better than it did. So, so many good scenes in this, a lot of them very funny and some genuinely impressive to watch.

An achievement in Canadian filmmaking. Stellar performances from the whole ensemble!

A perfectly mid dad movie, still enjoyable enough. If we’re being honest Norman Dale seemed like a terrible basketball coach even when considering it being 1951.

Movies full of non-actors, about small slices of Americana and the people at the outskirts of society like pornography/sex work, and in Red Rocket the onscreen intimacy is shown much more openly than can commonly be found and watched at your local AMC.

Mikey Saber is such a scumbag and the performance from Simon Rex was perfect, and as the IASIP gang says while talking about Thunder Gun Express, he…

Where do I even begin? The best, truest, strongest, depiction of the horrors of war, particularly the atrocious horrors of the Nazis. It can easily be described as anti-war but it surely acknowledges that the war needed to be fought to bring an end to the Nazis, the final scene of the Hitler propaganda portrait continuously being shot while Holocaust and propaganda/archival videos were spliced in was great(-ly depressing).

Aleksei Kravchenko (Florya) had perhaps the best performance…
