I almost want to say this was the best movie of the film festival I attended, but I think Ghostlight beats it for me.
This movie really surprised me, it was such a fun, wild ride of a film. I went into it expecting Big Money Hustlas 2 but it was ended up being weirdly wholesome and really funny. Definitely captivated me throughout its entire runtime, and I'm not sure what movie goer would dislike a film like this.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
A conservative boomer deciding suicide is the best option because his wife is gone, and that's all he has, is like the least interesting story you could pitch to me.
Yes, wow the concept of community can save lives! If men didn't normalize spending 60 years putting everything on their wife then perhaps I'd be less annoyed. And while I fully empathize with the concept of pure anger at systemic inequality for the disabled when it's thrown into your personal life, it doesn't make the movie better.
Any movie with a cat as the lead is automatically a masterpiece.
The themes of water and mysticism were extremely welcoming to me. And I love how the fish only existed to be eaten.
The range of life shown in all the animals was so very human, without taking away that they weren't human. Very beautiful direction!
Best watched with your closest friend, so you can decide who chops off their fingers after your next argument first.
