This feels like it could be in the same universe as Okja and Snowpiercer and I’m here for any political/social commentary that Bong Joon Ho wants to throw our way.
The whole duplicate thing is interesting, but the second half and the creepers is where the film really shined for me.
I love how Steven Yeun’s derpy pompous character keeps popping up randomly throughout. It reminded me of De Niro in Brazil. This fun Bong Joon Ho stuff reminds me of Terry Gilliam.
This film is fascinating for what it COULD have been. The end result is still worthy, but definitely flawed.
The score is haunting and brilliant, lending as a perfect match to the setting.
