A woman with psychic abilities marries a wealthy man who inherits his families run down old country house. She then decides it would be a fun project for her to restore this house back to its full character and thus lives out my dream. then some other stuff happens I guess…

Errrm what else, oh I seem to remember the opening sequence being pretty sick.

At one point my partner turned to me and asked why all these Italian directors seem to be obsessed with that one gaudy shade of pink/red. Style, my love. Style. That’s why.

I love these old timey psychological horror movies, are they all kinda the same? Sure. But the quality of dialogue and characterisation makes all the difference. This is most likely the best hammer horror film I’ve seen, it’s much more serious and there’s a gentler pacing.

4 years after Psycho and following similar themes to the slasher predecessor, this campy b-movie deserves far more critical acclaim. An incredible (gory) opening set up, title cards featuring art work of stylised decapitation, followed almost immediately by the most well paced tender embrace between mother and daughter - laced with tension and haunted by trauma. The Final Conflict

If I could give minus stars I would. This movie is utter dogshit and feels completely alien in comparison to the first two films. Beyond lacking any basic meaningful plot and storytelling the dialogue is so horrific it could have been written by ai or by someone who has never had an actual conversation with another human being. Every conversation lacks realism as the characters wear their intentions on their sleeve, and every moment feels riddled with exposition.

Beyond some decent moodily lit shots and sub par monologues, this movie butchers all its potential.
