Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. 2023
If only I could pick more than five stars I would. This was quite literally a perfect film. I read this book as a child during the 1970s and the movie is set in the same time frame. The director perfectly captures the asthetic and the tone and the overall feeling of the 70s. I literally felt transported back in time. Every single actor was perfectly cast. I never once saw actors "acting". Rather they were quite simply their character. Issues such as predjudice, bullying and growing pains are beautifully and sensitively portrayed. I very highly recommend this film
