Poor Things 2023
I enjoyed this film, but couldnt seem to move past the thing that hollywood loves to portray the most- glorified paedophilia. (the movie it most reminds me of is the fifth element- an attractive woman with the mental capacities of a child wants a man to explain to her what sex is because “she is just so silly and innocent but wants to explore all HIS fantasies”) except this is with someone who ACTUALLY HAS THE BRAIN OF A CHILD. the fact a man even proposed to her knowing this made me so uncomfortable and is just a blatant display of “justified” paedophilia.
