As a Pakistani it depresses me that a movie like this (a cross border romance between an Indian boy and a Pakistani girl) wouldn’t be feasible in today’s political climate currently thriving on hate and fascism and strained relations.
That being said, the movie itself is great. Haunting musical numbers, beautiful, lush cinematography and above all, the unshakeable foundation on which our star-crossed leads’ Veer and Zaara’s passion for each other rests. Love that transcends boundaries and borders is the strongest form of love there is.

This is paced like a freight train, jfc.
