quite fun! it wasn’t what i expected at all but still quite pleasant. I find that the movie kind of drags here and there with the point it’s trying to make but it doesn’t hurt too bad.

The Substance 2024
the third act insists upon itself… à la Carrie…
it’s almost as if the movie was about the doom of losing yourself in age, the solitude that comes with it and the harsh reality of loving yourself in a body that feels foreign… and the exploitation issue in hollywood.
the movie itself is pretty good with the secure amount of body horror (beware if you’re squeamish), but it unfortunately drags after the second act where you start to question when will it end…?
