The Substance 2024
wow. there's a lot about the movie that didn't make sense and i found it hard to suspend disbelief, was rolling my eyes quite a bit. also a lot of redundant telegraphing, i feel like the movie could have been much shorter and i resented the length at times. that being said, the final act made up for most pacing/durational shortcomings and i loved a lot of it, especially some of the body horror and visuals.

geez did they milk demon mommy for all she was worth! the pacing was nutballs, made me feel stressed out and harrowed but not in a fun way. most scenes felt like a special effects flex (not thatt mad) but with none of the camp the originals had (mad!). this movie cost millions of dollars but i don't think anyone tried that hard on it.
