  I got to the theater late and missed a solid chunk of the first act but this was such a great time. So much better than I was expected after the reactions from people and not quite like any other movie I’ve seen before.

  The whole “lust” sequence in this is one of the most disturbing things I’ve ever seen in a film. I remember the first time I saw this I had to turn it off after that scene and finish it the next day lol. This is such a grim movie throughout but it’s expertly crafted. It’s not really a “fun” movie but it is exciting to see a movie like this where everything is firing on all cylinders and everybody is executing. Fincher’s direction, the script from Andrew Kevin Walker, the performances from Freeman, Spacey, Pitt and Paltrow and even Howard Shore’s score. It’s all excellently done.

  This was so good. Exciting thrill ride from beginning to end with a performance from Tom Cruise that oozes regret as he plays a man holding on to the past. The action is incredible and the movie does a good job of making you care about the new characters at Top Gun.

  While the action scenes are definitely better than the original Top Gun, you do miss out on the charm that the first movie has with its unintentional comedy and 80s cheesiness. This movie knows how to play the hits though. Another W for Cruise.
