    A very solid retelling of the classic Invisible Man story told from a fresh perspective while also being a legitimately scary and smart thriller without falling into cliches of the genre. I don’t know if it’s as good as the original but the effects are certainly of a much higher caliber for obvious reasons.

    A somewhat weird movie to pay tribute, or parody, Bob Ross. That seems to be all the movie has going for it. Outside of that, it’s plotless and the laughs are few and far between. Not a bad movie, but very underwhelming.

    One of Kurosawa’s finer films that’s sadly didn’t get a lot of love upon its release in 1990. It’s a beautiful meditation on life, death, dreams, fantasies, art, childhood, and the like. Its eight stories cover a lot of ground. Some are stronger than others including the opening segment, “Sunshine Through the Rain,” “The Peach Orchard,” “Crows,” and “Village of the Watermills.” The others are not as strong and can run a little long in the tooth.
