Good Morning, Vietnam 1987
As good as I remember it when I first saw it at the cinema, funny and serious in equal measure with a complex message subtly conveyed unlike many other Vietnam War films.

Alien: Romulus 2024
My daughter’s reaction was the most exciting part of this film. Not as scary nor thrilling as Alien nor Aliens, it was pretty clever and did offer some scares. Would this have existed if someone wasn’t trying to think about how to have an Alien spin-off

An American Werewolf in London 1981
Not quite as dated as I thought it would be, especially in its special effects, it is helped by being tongue in cheek, visceral and ridiculous all at the same time. Some of the acting is worthy of an 80s ITV drama, as is some of the dialogue. Doesn’t compare well to The Thing made a year later, hence the rating.
