It was funnier when I watched this 15 years ago. One of those cases where when you know what's coming it just isn't as fun.

The Wizard of Oz 1939
Dare I say it, this movie is iconic, and much darker than I remember. When the Witch first explodes on scene, all the munchkins duck for cover, but in all honesty, she looks like she is surrounded by dead munchkins. Maybe it's just me, but combine that with the airplane/monkey fly scene and I think it might be trying to say something about war
