  The thing that pisses me off the most as a deaf individual watching this film is its inability to distinguish “finding someone interesting” and “being interested in someone.” Fundamentally, this misunderstanding shows the film just fails to understand love. 

  I tried to find the value of the deaf character and their transformation throughout the film, but it doesn’t exist. Imagine being told, “You are just a handicapped bitch I took advantage of” then telling the same guy you love him…
