#Wicked lived up to the hype. I knew Cynthia Erivo would devour the role as Elphaba, but it was Ariana Grande-Butera’s Glinda that truly came as a surprise.

While Erivo’s Elphaba was mesmerizing, Grande’s Galinda, much like Chenoweth’s, was a scene-stealer.

It paid homage to The Wizard of Oz film and the original Broadway musical.  And the special cameos were amazing.

I know I wasn’t the only one trying my hardest not to sing along.

The audience was either clapping or crying by the end of the film. I was both.

    I’m watching it again tomorrow.

The film hinges on Lupita Nyong’o’s performance and she has, like always, done a masterful job. Quinn proved his mettle acting alongside Nyong’o. And, Frodo, the cat, is the real superstar and would probably be the only survivor in this world.

It’s a straightforward true-crime film that leaves little to the imagination. A slow burn that relies heavily on the performances of Redmayne and Chastain as nurses Charlie and Amy.

    Malas nga ba ang Pilipinas?

It’s a question we’ve been asking, apparently since the Spanish occupation.

Masterful scoring, production design, and cinematography. Stellar cast, and Cedrick Juan was a revelation.

A rare film that sparks a sense of nationalism and even hope for a better Philippines.

    Moving. Thought-provoking. Required viewing.
