This movie is UNBELIEVABLE. Cilian Murphy gives one of the greatest performances I've ever seen and everyone else in the cast brings it too. The themes and tone are remarkably mature and sublime even for a Nolan film. The movie's message is somehow both timely and timeless and should be mandatory viewing for all world leaders. I have little doubt that this will be remembered as one of the 21st centuries greatest cinematic achievements.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003
I didn't really know how to rate these because it's really just one movie in three parts. For me, taken as a whole the movie is worthy of five stars. Some parts are weaker than others and overall it's still not as good as the books, but what they did with this adaptation was nothing short of miraculous. In my opinion, despite cutting the Scouring of the Shire Return of the King is the strongest of these three movies. It's hard to watch these movies and not be inspired to become a better person. Long live the Shire!
