The Dawn Wall 2017
In a year where we have two films about climbing el capitan, Free Solo may be getting more press but this is by far the superior film/story.
Free Solo has an irritating protagonist achieve a remarkable feat. Dawn Wall has a more compelling narrative, genuinely endearing protagonists you want to succeed, and a clear motivating force.
While one can wonder whether Free Solo or Dawn Wall has the more remarkable accomplishment at its center, it’s definitive that Dawn Wall is a better film in every way.
