rewatched this film for the first time since seeing it in theatres in october, but like last time, i started crying from the very first shot of fujino drawing at her window. perfectly encapsulated my experienced artist ego death in the 6th grade, my desperate attempts to improve throughout middle school, to quitting, and then relearning how to draw all over again in college.
