  First watch in a good while. Two major thoughts:

  1. Scientifically designed to turn 2010 era moms into complete psychotics

  2. Every kill ends with the Peter Griffin death pose, which is just very funny

  Jason Clarke delivers dialogue like a swordsman delivers fatal blows. Whenever he speaks, he’s hunting for organs. 

  Lance Reddick….what a loss. 

  What a great final film by Friedkin. I can only hope my final film meets this level of quality. A tight, rich story about power, authority, crisis, and the clash of old guard and new. Penetrative, no-nonsense dialogue and confident direction. Last of the hard bastards.

  Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre 2023

  Went through this anthology over the last couple weeks, thought many of these were quite good, with a few others that conceptually I couldn’t get on board with, and others that I felt had unresolved endings. The visuals were outstanding and memorable, I really hope we see more of these. 

  Highlights:
  - Layers of Terror — absolutely go out of your way to see this one

  - Long Hair in the Attic
  - Ice Cream Bus
  - Tomb Town
  - The Bully
  - Whispering Woman
