  The last 30 seconds of this retroactively justify most of the film’s notable pacing issues. Jodorowsky seems to have a pervasive fixation on women’s sexuality in a way that negatively recalls Lars Von Trier. The holy mountain as a triple metaphor for the alchemical process/spiritual enlightenment/creating fiction fascinated me. Overall, a must-watch despite some of the film’s more questionable choices.
