Mickey 17 is a film about the current state of the job market behind the veneer of a 'Edge of Tomorrow' setup that later hides behind the veneer of that online sci-fi debate about teleporters or regeneration machines actually killing their users rather than transferring them. Either that or I'm so fucking desperate for career progression that puts my wasted degree to good use that I'm seeing everything as a metaphor for the minor struggles of mundane modern life.
