The 2004 Sox were a team that overcame so much, and have probably one of the greatest stories in all of American sports. This documentary was long overdue. So glad to get some behind the scenes looks at what that year was like, and how everything came together when it mattered most.
I really wanted this movie to be better than it was (easily expected at least a 4 star movie, especially with all the Oscar nods it got). With such a packed cast, you would think it would deliver much more. I can't put my finger on it, but I guess the best way I could describe it is that it tried too hard. It isn't Goodfellas, A Bronx Tale, or other movies in that same "vibe" that American Hustle tried…
