When I saw his name in the opening credits, I was waiting for Steve Vai to appear the whole time, and when he finally showed up in the climax he EXCEEDED all expectations! Guitar wankery has never been this epic!

Really fun film, but it feels kind of unfocused and unsure what it wants its main conflict to be. I honestly forgot about the whole news article thing in the middle of the movie. I don’t quite know how to explain it, but it feels like it’s missing something. That final ingredient that would push this film up into the ranks of the other all-time classic…

Rookie of the Year 1993
You know those movies you watched a million times as a kid and after years and years of not watching you can still remember the flow and cadence of every single scene? This is one of those films for me. I don't really know what I can say about a film that was probably one of the first I ever watched. Still a fun time. It (mostly) doesn't make me cringe. I'm glad I rewatched it.
