Not sure how the Cohen Brothers can strike such a magnificent balance of comedy, thriller, drama with all the perfect quirky beats but they do every time. One of the most quotable movies ever btw.

I wish I could obsess over my hobbies like this. A travesty Miles Teller did not get an Oscar nomination for this role. He matches Simmons talent, energy, and commitment. I think my very favorite part is at the end when the dad really sees his son's genius for the first time. As a parent watching my children grow, and thrive, and care abut their own things, it moves me every time.

This movie charmed me from start to finish and it was such a joy to look at. David Byrne is so magnetic and wildly talented. Odd but not at he expense of being truly interesting or having a plot. At times it reminded of both Pink Floyd The Wall, and Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Often times this type of flashy movie doesn't hold my interest the whole way through but not the case here. I cared about every scene, every character, and especially every song. Loved the cast, especially John Goodman who gave a warm and vulnerable performance. What a fun surprise!
