The Color Purple 1985
Life truly is beauty and pain. This is my first time seeing this film and I was gutted and captivated in the first 5 minutes. I somehow have remained free from spoilers and went in with no idea where the story would take me. I was right there with Celie from all her rage, sadness, emptiness, and hope. Powerful stand out performances from everyone in the cast. Incredible musical score and of course Spielberg creates magic. If you’ve somehow missed this movie don’t wait any longer to watch it.
