  Unique enough that I’m glad I got around to it. There’s some cute stuff here, but I’m surprised it didn’t lean into the comedy more—it felt like a draft in need of a punch-up. Also, these characters are universally blasé about people bleeding out on their furniture. (That said, I loved Lily Tomlin’s place with the terracotta-colored walls and cat artwork.)

  When Charles Boyer made his impromptu hand puppet say “I HATE MEN,” I knew this would be a romance for the ages.

  I’m glad I went in with zero context, so I’ll just say I’m impressed by the number of genres they managed to hit in 97 minutes.
