Paris, Texas 1984
Continues to be such a beautiful movie. Each shot is carefully curated but that intentionality never bleeds into the rawness and authenticity of the characters. I understand the issues people have with Travis, but ultimately I don’t think the film sets out to cast a moral judgement onto him. Travis must exist with his wrongdoings and find out what future he can piece together in the aftermath.
There’s no good or evil to be overcome just loneliness, love, and loss to be grappled with.
