  Such a huge first time watch for me!! Can't believe Gene Hackman did this after The Conversation when he still had that bushy mustache. This looked like a French Connection remake in which this film asked: what if Popeye Doyle was a private investigator instead of a cop?   35mm studio print from 1995!! It is such a hilarious film and a full on time capsule!! Finally got around to it and I loved it. RIP, Brittany Murphy.
