I love that this is a punk rock movie with punk rock themes and real L.A. punk band actors. The story is just sort of there as a loose bracket for the action on screen, but it’s really more like a time capsule of personalities and attitudes. Just like punk rock, this is amateur and outside of the formal rules and it doesn’t give a damn.

I had never heard of this film until my girlfriend showed it to me last night. What a super cool dark fantasy film! The imagery and imagination are pretty incredible. Very Tim Burton styled dark visuals but an edge of Dali surrealist absurdity. A kid’s film ultimately, but did not leave my adult imagination untouched. Very cool movie!
For the record, I have not seen the live performance. I did however binge watch both seasons of Green Porno currently streaming on the Criterion Channel and since there is no other way to log that, I'm checking this in.

This doesn't blaze any new trails. But, what it does do is cover familiar ground exceptionally well. A wonderfully shot, brilliantly acted film.
