American Psycho 2000
A satirical pastiche about Reagan-era politics and Wall Street dominance that is all from the perspective of a serial killer, Patrick Bateman. A darkly comedic feature that does a wonderful pastiche on how an ordinary Yuppie embraces his inner killer. I applaud Mary Harron's direction and the performances in the film.

A story of excess and extravagence. Hollywood in its early days was always a crude, excessive, indecadent, and scandalous place that was crawling with sex, drugs, alcohol, gross-out, depravity, low morale and self esteem and was catering to the masses for sheer low brow entertainment. It is a celebration of cinema itself. That is what the critics missed the point about this film. Hollywood was always like this. It was never polished or clean. It is a prestige film that should celebrate the art and craft of the medium.
