Third watch. Becoming a bit too stage-y, rambling-around-the-room for my liking but still very captivating. Particularly enjoy the eldest gentleman who provides psychological profiles of two key witnesses, with dramatic closeups of his face to boot.

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call – New Orleans 2009
I haven't seen the Abel Ferrara film, my naiveté notwithstanding:
Really, really funny. Almost Fulcian in how depraved the police are depicted - The New York Ripper might make a good companion piece. This is mostly a Cage showcase, though a pitch-perfect one at that. His character barrels through one volatile situation to the next with little regard for his own safety or stature. While the story unfolds, some method to his madness is eventually revealed. As coke-fueled high-wire acts go, this is one of the greats.
