The Velvet Vampire 1971
The Velvet Vampire walked so The Love Witch could run. Slow build-up for a really great final 20 minutes.

Opening Night 1977
"The whole world, everybody wants to be loved."
I knew I needed to drop everything and rewatch this today after hearing of Gena Rowlands' passing. Opening Night has been a favorite of mine since I first watched it years ago. Her acting is otherworldly, and her place in film history as one of the founding mothers of independent cinema is eternal. Thank you for everything, Gena🖤

Silent Night, Deadly Night 1984
Naughty.
I fucking love this movie!! It’s so outrageous and campy and almost borders softcore porn at some points. Getting to watch it in a theater packed with other people laughing and cheering at the absurd scenes and surprisingly gruesome kills (the sledding decapitation is genuinely one of my favorite slasher kills of all time) truly put me in the Christmas spirit🖤
Also I know they clearly didn’t have the budget for it considering all the made up (bad) Christmas songs that comprise the soundtrack, but it would’ve been so funny if they played Santa Baby at least once.
