Ouch! Almost cloyingly melancholic, this movie is a penetrating portrayal of loneliness and our hunger for connection (pun intended). I LOVED the visuals and the soundtrack. Daniel Craig's performance was outstanding - imho, he'd deserve an Oscar for that blowjob scene alone.

The film does not seem to put much faith into viewers' ability to connect some - if any - dots: (unsurprising) plot twists are spelled out for us & pieces of the mystery are brought to our attention in a way that is kind of insulting - via obvious voice-overs and little flashbacks to what we had just seen 30 minutes ago.
I also thought some performances and choices were rather baffling: Why were the flashbacks to Christian Bale's daughter staged…
