  the most depressing scorsese film that is reluctant to give you a moment of respite. while an intermission may have provided a break for the audience, it would've also been a privilege that the osage people never had, and would've lessened the intended transformative experience of cinema. i genuinely feel sorry for anyone who won't experience this in the cinema as opposed to at home.

  honestly might be one of scorseses bests, with that ending alone being an unprecedented stand out in his career. a pure kino dissection of genocide under a filter of catholic guilt.
