Lets talk about under appreciated sequels, shall we?

PSYCHO and THE OMEN are high watermarks in late 20th century suspense thrillers. (I suppose they're technically labeled under 'horror.')

...So anyone who dares make a sequel of either one of these films is going to be open to some serious scrutiny. The Omen, more so than Psycho, lends itself to a sequel possibility.

Enter DAMIEN: OMEN II (I even love the damn title).

I think this movie follows the first movie…

This is an essential watch for me every October.
I kick off the scary movie season every year by watching THE OMEN.

I love everything about this smart, chilling, thriller.

Something about this movie gives me full-on fall season vibes.

The Omen kick started, the late, great Richard Donner's career and set him up to take on Superman as his next project. It's easy to see why; The Omen deals with the fantastic in a realistic, compelling way.

Is this Tarantino's best film? (shoulder shrug) Probably not. I'm sure most people would say it's PULP FICTION, and I'd agree with that.

But this is my favorite Tarantino flick. Also; it is the best.

It's the magnum opus of one of the most prolific American filmmakers. A masterwork of a matured, on top of his craft, pop-culture God, doing everything he does best....

...this flick is like the B side of…

I LOVE me some Richard Linklater. (School of Rock, Scanner Darkley, The 'Before' trilogy, Dazed and Confused)...

...Everybody Wants Some was such a refreshing, quintesential Linklater film. It's kind of like a sequel to Dazed and Confused, with the film taking place within one weekend.

The soundrack is fantastic, and the setting is fun; early 80s baseball team frat house.

This movie gets better every time I watch it. Just watched it again over the weekend and it makes me smile.

If you haven't heard of it: you're welcome.
