Not sure what I was expecting from the 7th, 8th? Installment of a franchise, but what I can say with confidence is that the sparingly used original ideas from this film shine brighter than all the dull retreads that it forces the audience to sit through once again.
The first and last 20 minutes show us what can be done by sidestepping the safety of the alien umbrella while still appreciating what the battle scarred xenomorphs have to offer.
