    I can’t help but think that Gladiator II is just a rehash of the plot of it’s predecessor, with a slightly different dynamic and Denzel’s sun plot of a slave turned power hungry emperor. 
    With the latter plot actually containing far more intrigue than the main one.
    I feel for Mescal, there were glimpses of excellence throughout the film, and there was no denying his commitment to the physicality of the role. His performance was stoic and reserved in places…

    I was pleasantly surprised by both Zoë Kravitz’s directing capabilities and the acting on show in this thrilling directorial debut.
    Firstly, I am very, very impressed with Zoë Kravitz’s directing in this film. Some of the shots and choreography in the film were absolutely fantastic. Location choice and the overall design of the house, the rooms, and the costumes made the difference when creating that uncanny valley feel in regards to this tropical “paradise”.
