Garfield and Pugh was a duo I didn’t know I needed in my life. Chemistry A+.
Thought this was a comedy… Individuality and being ‘different’ reign supreme in this film. Love the development of ash as a secondary character in this film. Failing to live up to his dads legacy leads ash to be himself— ‘different’. Ending made me get up and dance. Definitely going to be checking out some other Wes Anderson films in the future.
Couldn’t tell who I enjoyed more in this film, Timothee Chalamet or Steve Carell. Both did an amazing job. Captured the struggle of addiction at a young age while preserving how strong a father son relationship can be. Phone call scene and ending were heartbreaking. Didn’t cry because of how sad it was, but because of how realistic it was…
