  Oblivion 2013

  ★★★★ Watched 10 Jan 2025

  After watching this for the first time since shortly after it came out, its flaws are more obvious, and I remembered most of the twists well before they happened. 

  That being said, it’s still an above average sci-fi thriller with an interesting story. Nostalgia also helps a tad here.

  Despite all the good stuff, the fact that it’s so formulaic really works against it and keeps it from being a great movie. 

  Baaaaaarely 4 stars.

  Insidious: The Red Door 2023

  Boy this sucked. 

  Almost dropped the last half star when I heard Patrick Wilson singing in the credits lol

  This whole franchise has been mediocre overall, would be sick if a competent director did the sixth one which is apparently officially a thing now. 

  I’m watching these out of some weird obligatory nostalgia at this point.

  This was absolutely atrocious. 

  I almost rolled my eyes so hard, and so many times, I think I may have developed an astigmatism or some other malady of the eyes. 

  The whole time I was thinking “how dare he do this to such an iconic movie such as The Shining,” and I don’t even LIKE The Shining. 

  This is like B - movie level bad. 

  If Kyliegh Curran was replaced by your average child actor, this would have been laugh…
