This was insanely well put together for the time I still can’t believe that there was no CGI in this.
I also noticed that although a lot of other films took inspiration from this like alien their representation of space is a polar opposite. In alien the ship and space is represented and shown as dark and imperfect but in 2001 the ship and space is represented and shown as immaculate and bright.

This movie is the closest to perfection of any film I’ve ever seen, I genuinely can’t think of anything wrong with it.
The use of suspense is amazing, the alien isn’t shown to much so that when it inevitably is seen it’s all the more terrifying and frightening.
The shots and set design in this film are also way better than I remember, the way the aliens body blends with the ship most of the way through shows how well produced…
