Interstellar 2014
While a gut-wrenching odyssey and the go-to example for Nolan achieving true Nolanism, objectively a bit too much is lost to bad pacing and convolution. While there is truly a phenomenal sci-fi and space opera here, Interstellar is a monolith that stands perhaps a bit too big and takes itself a bit too seriously.
That being said, Nolan’s heartbreaking portrayal of time dilation, the dazzling visual rendering of Gargantua and Zimmer’s absolutely fucking insane score will forever be ingrained within sci-fi history beside works like 2001 and Solaris.

Ani is a young stripper in Brighton Beach, a Russian-speaking neighborhood in Brooklyn. She works seven nights a week at a local strip club when she meets Ivan,…Translated from by -
The Substance 2024
Shocked to announce I passed out from this movie ahhhhhahaa. Hate needles. Really fucking genius.
Coralie Fargeat came on the track mad, and I mean pissed as fuck. A love letter to film as an art form yet a threat to the industry which has framed women as expendable. Referenced your favorite male directors and then shit on their best work: Kubrick, Cronenberg, De Palma, Tarantino, and Aronofsky.
Where most body horror is purely sadistic, Fargeat approached the genre with…
