TLDR: Exotic dance from Brooklyn meets rich kid from Russia. who’d have guessed their relationship is tumultuous…

I really liked this film… it felt like a Dostoyevsky novel with a modern tinge. Igor was my favorite character but i felt the final scene with him and Anora was odd.

Overall, solid film. I want to learn Russian now.

TLDR: Do not build hospitals out of wood…

I thought that the mixture of fantasy and wartime Japan was unique. Normatively, I would have said — before watching this film — that it is hard to successfully combine fantasy and historical elements but this Studio Ghibli film proved me wrong.

Overall, the voice acting was top tier, the animation was gorgeous, and the plot was enthralling.

TLDR: Natalie Portman experiences lovecraftian sci-fi horrors.

Great film. First and foremost, Natalie Portman is always a win in my book. The score was great I loved the bassy tune towards the climax. I really enjoyed the innovative plot that is steeped in sci-fi but does not fall into too many tropes of a typical sci-fi piece. Additionally, the horror elements were fantastically executed. I felt an impending dread while watching the latter half of the film as I did…

TLDR: low budget horror movie with an Idiot plot.

For the record, I did not watch this movie on my own volition. The story only continues because all main characters are complete imbeciles which was deeply irksome. Additionally, there is absolutely no substance by which I mean no moral justification just nonsense filler with a few jump scares.

Overall, do not watch this movie. It wasn’t scary, interesting, nor satisfying.
