Evidently a great choice of story to bring to the screen, but it’s a shame they didn’t do more with it. Though there were some powerful moments (David Oyelowo's various rousing speeches stand out), too much screen time was devoted to political manoeuvring from interchangeable British administrators, and not enough to the emotions of any of the characters involved. Particularly, it struck me that only about ten minutes at the start of the film were allocated for developing the love…
